LICELice are tiny, 6 legged wingless parasitic insects that live among the human hair and feed on tiny amounts of blood. The average nit (baby louse) is similar in size to a knot in a thread, and the average adult louse is 2-3mm, the size of a sesame seed – making head lice often times very difficult to detect.
Everyone is at risk for head lice, as they are spread by direct head to headcontact. If you suspect that you or a loved one may have lice, and are looking for a professional opinion, simply take a close up picture of the suspected egg or louse and send it to us using the form below.
We will carefully analyze your sample, and a trusted lice expert will send a confidential reply within 24 hours of your submission.
